In an initial statement, the state party chairman of the Vienna People’s Party, city councilor Karl Mahrer, welcomed the fundamental agreement between the federal government and the states in the financial equalization negotiations: “The result of the negotiations shows clearly that cross-state and cross-party efforts have led to success.”
In recent years, the states and municipalities have taken on more tasks. This also means more spending, especially in the areas of health, care and elementary education. “Today’s result is particularly important for the area of health care in Vienna. It is now crucial to consistently develop the necessary reforms in the area of care and health. The Future Fund also initiated a paradigm shift in federal cooperation,” said Mahrer finally.
