His compatriot Sergiy Stakhovsky had already announced that he was committed to defending his country and it was he himself who shared a photo on Instagram with the current captain of the Ukraine Davis Cup team, Andrei Medvedev.
“World tennis legend Andrei Medvedev stays in kyiv and is ready to face the enemy. I am incredibly happy to see the captain of the national tennis team of Ukraine. Patriot of Ukraine”wrote Sergiy Stakhovsky.
Andreï Medvedev climbed to fourth place in the world in 1994, after winning eleven ATP titles during his career, including a Masters 1000, that of Monte-Carlo in 1994.
