Ivan Mikhailovich was born on October 20, 1925 in the village of Kievka, Nurinsky district, Karaganda region. Before being drafted into the Red Army in 1943, he graduated from high school and worked in the village. During the war he served in the Volga Military District. For military merits, he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and the Red Star, medals “For Courage”, many anniversary medals. After demobilization from the army, he worked for thirty years as the head of the supply department of the transport shop of the synthetic rubber plant. He has medals “Veteran of Labour”, “For Valiant Labor”.

Temirtau mayor’s office expresses deep condolences to the family and friends of Ivan Mikhailovich Purik.
