Warning signs of deteriorating eyesight – Al-Marsad Libyan newspaper

England – Deteriorating eyesight is often associated with aging, but the condition may be worsened by other factors, such as diabetes, obesity and genetics.

Ophthalmologist Josie Forte explained that the deterioration could be the result of presbyopia, a common eye condition characterized by the gradual loss of the ability to focus on close objects.

“Subtle changes and impacts related to our vision often go unnoticed,” she said. “But like many conditions, if these changes are not treated, they often get worse.”

Here are the main signs of decreased vision:

– Keep the book away from eyes to read clearly.

– Increase the font size on mobile phone.

– Needing brighter lighting to read something.

– Suffering from blurry vision.

– Staring at things intently.

– Eye strain or headache after reading.

– Asking to borrow people’s glasses to read things.

– Mix salt and pepper.

If you start to feel these signs, it is time to consult your eye doctor.

The Mayo Clinic warns that if you experience any of the following, you should seek immediate medical attention:

– Sudden loss of vision in one eye.

– Sudden blurry or blurred vision.

– Seeing flashes of light, black spots, or halos around lights.

– Double vision.
