Instructed the Egyptian Medicines Authority to seize and seize what is available in the local market and government units of the number of fake and counterfeit packages of 3 pharmaceutical preparations.
According to circular No. 13 of 2022, obtained by Masrawy, the Medicines Authority demanded the seizure of counterfeit and fraudulent batches of “Cipralex 10 mg”, manufactured by H. Lundbeck a/s company, and imported by Multi Pharma.
This medication is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, insomnia, and menstrual symptoms.
The Medicines Authority indicated the mechanisms for differentiating between the original packages of this product and the adulterated packages, in terms of the inner tape and the outer carton.
In Circular No. 14 of 2022, the Medicines Authority demanded the seizure and seizure of counterfeit and adulterated packages of the “PERFORMA EXTRA STRENGTH 5%” product, manufactured by Al-Andalus Pharmaceutical Industries, for batch No. 210699.
Performa Extra Strength 5% Spray is used topically, for hair regrowth.
The authority demanded, in circular No. 15 of 2022, to withdraw and seize all packages of preparations: “01: batch number LORIANO TRIPLE NUTRITION BALSAM – 01: batch number LORIANO HAIR FALL RESCUE BALSAM – 01: batch number LORIANO HAIR BALSAM WITH KERATIN.”
The authority ascribed a decision to withdraw these products due to the fact that these products were issued for a final non-conformity by the Egyptian Medicines Authority.
The Medicines Authority directed the necessity of freezing the balances they have from those operations, returning what was sold to pharmacies to the company’s stores in all governorates of the Republic from the aforementioned operations, and informing the Pharmacy Department of the Directorate of Health Affairs in the governorate of the balances and returns.
