The latest Watch app for Tesla update gives us a very handy tool for those who want to control their eponymous vehicle from anywhere. Now, the declination for Apple Watch of the platform can act as a virtual key to unlock the doors, thanks to the Bluetooth chip integrated into the wearable. And the advantage is that it works even without any internet connection! Including if the watch is not paired with an iPhonewhich is not negligible and rare enough to be underlined.
Watch app for Tesla is also a version for Mac where it is possible to follow all the indicators of your car in real time from a single interface. However, you have to pay no less than 23,99 euros to afford the service, which is also available on iPad tablets and iPhones running iOS 14.2 or later.

As a bonus, Watch app for Tesla allows you to control your vehicle remotely using the manufacturer’s API. You can, for example, activate the heating of the seats without leaving yours, use the horn to find your parking space or even turn on the headlights. With this, a dark mode is included to be able to use the app in the evening without getting tired.
Watch app for Tesla is available in many languages, including French, English and Spanish. And as you already have to pay to download the platform, no additional in-app purchase is to be expected, not to mention that the -independent- publisher ensures that it does not collect any personal data. Add your car key to the Apple Maps app
Recently, know that you can also scan your car keys for many models of competing brands. If your vehicle is compatible, you will need to be equipped with a iPhone XS or later with iOS 16 at least. For watches, it will be the Series 5 or the Watch SE at least, also up to date.
Here is the procedure for adding the key, from an iPhone:
- check that your car is connected to its associated app
- follow the instructions from the manufacturer’s app
- when you’re taken to the Maps app, tap To continue
- place your iPhone on the key reader during pairing if the interface requires it
Note: the Maps app is the new name ofApple Wallet in French.
