Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery was not laughing Monday morning.
The pivot made his players skate to punish them following their recent poor performances. The Massachusetts club has lost its last two matches. He lost 5 to 2 to the New York Rangers on Thursday and 3 to 2 to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

According to several media outlets at Monday’s practice, Montgomery yelled at his skaters to “wake up.” He would have punctuated his order with a few coronations.
“I hated how we ended our game in Philadelphia. We weren’t ready to start training today [lundi]», declared Montgomery during the press conference which followed his team’s exercise.
“It’s our job to be ready and we weren’t today,” said forward Brad Marchand. It’s a great reminder from Monty that expectations are high here. It was completely justified, especially with the games we have coming up.”
“We need to be focused every day and we weren’t at the start of practice,” added the Bruins captain. He did a good job of noticing it, holding us accountable and getting us back on the right path.”
The Bruins occupy second place in the Atlantic Division of the National Hockey League with 97 points. They will return to action Tuesday night against the Florida Panthers, the team installed in first place. The Sunrise team also amassed 97 points, but played one game less than the “Oursons”.
