Watch..how to save a person who suddenly had a heart attack while he was next to you • Al Marsad Newspaper

Al-Marsad newspaper: A report revealed some simple steps that can be taken to save a person with a heart attack, as about 70% to 90% of people who have a heart attack die in the United States before they reach the hospital, because they are not properly helped.

According to CNN, the report explained the steps as follows:

1/ Call an ambulance

If you see someone with symptoms of cardiac arrest, call 911 immediately. You want to get professional help ASAP. When the heart can no longer pump blood to the brain and lungs, a person may develop brain damage or die within minutes.

And if someone else is around, divide up the duties. One person has to call an ambulance, while another person searches for an automated external defibrillator.

These lightweight devices can help return a person’s heart to a regular rhythm. They are often found in public places such as airports, offices, and schools.

2/ Begin CPR

After using the machine, or if you can’t get one, begin chest compressions.

With your hands placed in the center of the person’s chest, press firmly at a rate of 100 to 120 beats per minute.

“You literally act like the outside heart,” said Dr. Comilla Sasson, an emergency physician and vice president for science and innovation for emergency cardiovascular care with the American Heart Association.
