Al-Marsad newspaper: The prominent Iraqi leader, Muqtada al-Sadr, issued a statement, on Sunday, that was limited to religious issues without addressing the crisis that erupted in Iraq a few days ago.
Al-Sadr’s statement, which was published on his official account on Twitter, was limited to the interpretation of the verse, “God only wants to remove uncleanliness from you, people of the House, and purify you with a thorough purification,” where he referred to the dispute between Sunnis and Shiites in their interpretation, and his interpretation of it.
Al-Sadr elaborated on the doctrinal interpretation of the verse without addressing or even alluding to the political crisis in Iraq.
