In the midst of this, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that the flu virus risk in 44 states was very high or high as of last week.
Experts explained that the virus spread greatly through transportation hubs such as airports and Thanksgiving holiday gatherings earlier.
According to the CDC, there have been at least 78,000 hospitalizations and 4,500 deaths so far, 14 of them children.
The CDC advised, “For flu prevention, flu vaccination is recommended for all residents except for newborns under 6 months of age.”
