Al-Marsad Newspaper: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority managed to thwart two attempts to smuggle more than 2.4 million Captagon pills, following they were found hidden in consignments that came to the Kingdom through the Jeddah Islamic Port and Empty Quarter ports.

The authority stated that it was able to thwart an attempt to smuggle 1,213,378 Captagon pills at the Empty Quarter port, following it was found hidden inside a consignment (doors) received through the port, by hiding the seized items in the recesses of the doors.

She added that in the second attempt, the authority in Jeddah Islamic Port was able to thwart 1,215,353 Pentagon pills, which were found hidden in a cement shipment, following the pills were hidden inside the consignment bags.

The authority stated that following completing the seizure operations, coordination took place with the General Directorate for Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of the recipients of the seizures inside the Kingdom, as they were arrested, numbering 6 people.
