In addition to the cyberattack that occurred last week, the Waterloo CPAS experienced another problematic situation a little over a month ago. According to an anonymous source, a man burst into the building and threatened an employee with a weapon.

It later turned out that the weapon in question was a warning pistol.

Big scare in Waterloo, the CPAS victim of a cyber attack: “We can consider ourselves happy and lucky”

As soon as the alert was raised, several police vehicles quickly arrived on site. The individual was able to be intercepted a few minutes later.

The Waterloo CPAS wants to be reassuring regarding this act. The person intercepted was apparently in a desperate situation and wanted to find a solution, we are informed. He apparently had no intention of harming anyone. Contacted, the local police and the prosecutor’s office have not yet come back to us regarding this story.
