According to the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG), there is either a severe weather or heat warning in large parts of Austria on Wednesday. Only in the evening does it go towards relaxation.
In large parts of Carinthia there were severe storms in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. The Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics even speaks of a “100-year” storm.
storms in the south
There was still no all-clear for the southern federal state on Wednesday either: Upper Carinthia in particular still applies a thunderstorm warning. The weather is only expected to calm down and the rain showers to end during the night. There may also be some showers and local thunderstorm cells in Upper Austria.

Meanwhile, there is a heat warning in eastern Austria. In eastern Lower Austria, in the greater Vienna area and in Burgenland, it will remain dry with a few exceptions. In the meantime, a sometimes brisk southeast wind is blowing here in the afternoon. Temperatures here can rise to 35 degrees.
In the east, a few more showers can also fall in the second half of the night, otherwise it will remain calm. The wind is mostly weak. The lows are between 11 and 22 degrees, it is warmest in the metropolitan areas in the east and south-east.

The weather on Thursday brings a certain relaxation: Sunny weather prevails in most of the country and the chance of showers and thunderstorms is significantly lower compared to the previous days. However, some local cells shoot up again in the afternoon in the mountains. Otherwise the cumulus clouds usually remain harmless. The wind will mostly be weak to moderate. Early temperatures 13 to 22 degrees, maximum daily temperatures 26 to 34 degrees.
