The coach of the Honduras National Team, Reinaldo Rueda, expressed his discomfort at not having fields to train in Tegucigalpa, since the microcycle from Monday to Wednesday is held at the Olimpia High Performance Center.
“We have a delicate situation in the capital and we do not have fields. We must look for a strategy in the country to have better working conditions,” said the Colombian coach at a press conference.

We have a delicate situation in Tegucigalpa and that is that we do not have fields. These Olimpia CAR courts are salvation. Today we had mobility problems, perhaps the one at the National Stadium has different characteristics due to the current situation, hopefully at some point it will be similar to those at Olimpia. Naturally those are the conditions we now have to work with. We must look for a strategy in the country to have better working conditions.

How have you seen the National League after the end of the first round? How do you take the goals from legionnaires Rivas and Ruiz?
One always aspires to continue improving. You can analyze that the performance is not ideal in a good percentage of the teams, there are clubs that are performing well but we know that they can give more. Irregularity remains in many of the clubs due to many factors that it would be daring for me to analyze when I am just making this diagnosis, knowing that the rosters are being mixed between young and experienced players.
In the case of Rigoberto Rivas and David Ruiz, it is very positive, it is important that they follow that path and continue to grow in their performance so that when we need them they can contribute to the National Team as well.
What percentage of these footballers mentioned will be called to face Cuba?
Today there is a high percentage of the U-23 National Team, there are a greater number of players, but they are also players within the Senior National Team process, so their performance in the tournament will depend on their continuity with us. Now perhaps we can recover Kervin Arriaga, but we lose Joseph Rosales, so day to day will tell us how many players from the National League or abroad can make up the National Team for the next games.
What have you seen of Cuba?
We just started the analysis of Cuba with the group. It is a very organized selection. They have many players abroad, in the Costa Rican league, MLS, Finland, Austria. They have always been distinguished by a great sports culture and continue to grow like all the Caribbean teams. That is why we must face this match with a lot of professionalism and great intensity.
Have you considered Buba López for the National Team even though you have not taken him into account?
López is surely a National Team player, we need all the players who are performing well. It is a very difficult position that needs I don’t know how many games to get back into the rhythm, how many days of training after the impasse he had. All of that in due time from him. Depending on how he can perform with his club and is at the level we want for the National Team, or close to it, he will be an important man for us.
Why didn’t Danilo Palacios del Vida appear in the call but is in the microcycle?
We talked about it with Professor Héctor Vargas. He had suffered a sprain to his ankle, so his participation in the game against Génesis was in doubt, this being what depended on his call-up, that is why he was unofficially called up, we have been evaluating it in previous games and that is why today is with us.
