Wendy’s launches WendyQuest mobile game with free food codes

Wendy’s has launched a mobile role-playing game called WendyQuest where players can win free food. The retro-style game features the company’s mascot battling evil french fry robots, and promotional codes earned in the game are redeemable for menu items like fries and burgers at Wendy’s locations.

Unlocking Free Fries Codes

WendyQuest is available to download on iOS and Android, and desktop users can access it through the Steam platform. The game uses blocky graphics reminiscent of late-1980s and early-1990s console games, with simplified turn-based battles that include a timing element. Players battle monsters, explore maps, and progress through the game to unlock items and promo codes. The first region, Fryshire, can be completed in over an hour to earn a code for medium fries, which are free with a purchase.

Promotion Terms and Conditions

The promotion to win free food is restricted to people who are 18 years of age or older and living in the United States. Players must sign up for a Wendy’s account on the company’s website or mobile app to redeem any codes. The reward codes expire seven days after they are received and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Wendy’s clarified that while the food is free, a purchase is required to redeem the offer.

Brand’s Gaming History

“Wendy’s has been a part of gaming culture for years, including on Twitch, Fortnite and Feast of Legends, but WendyQuest is the brand’s first fully owned video game,” a spokesperson for Wendy’s said. The company’s entry into the gaming space includes past collaborations, but WendyQuest marks its first independently developed game. The promotion ties into a long history of video games offering real-world prizes to players, such as the 1980s Atari game Swordquest, which held a contest to win actual treasure. WendyQuest was announced on Nov. 4, marking the company’s latest venture into interactive marketing.
