Westbahn will no longer stop in Flachgau from September 4th

The Westbahn has informed the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund that timetables and services will be adjusted on September 4th. The shifts in the overall offer also have an impact on Salzburg’s local transport.

Westbahn trains will no longer stop at Straßwalchen, Neumarkt am Wallersee and Seekirchen stations. Five trains a day are affected. The Westbahn has been serving the three Flachgau train stations since December 2021.

Johannes Gfrerer, Managing Director of the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund GmbH.: “We note with regret the decision of the Westbahn, which is operated independently. Unfortunately, the offer cannot be replaced by local trains at short notice, as all reasonable time slots on the heavily frequented western route are occupied.”

The Westbahn became a full member of the Salzburg Transport Association on January 1, 2023. Membership in the SVV remains intact. For example, SVV tickets between Salzburg and Vöcklabruck or Attnang-Puchheim will continue to be recognized on Westbahn trains.

Passengers are asked to find out about alternative connections in good time – for example on www.salzburg-verkehr.at or with the Salzburg Verkehr app.
