No new confirmed cases of rinderpest in Western Greece

The first phase of the mass clinical examination and sampling of sheep and goat holdings located in the five protection and surveillance zones for rinderpest in the Region of Western Greece.

In particular, until Wednesday 12/8/2024, 1,267 farms and 202,000 animals had been checked in the protection and surveillance zones of Aitolia and 578 farms and 61,000 animals in the zones of Ilia.

At the same time, 450 samples have been taken and sent for examination to the Veterinary Reference Laboratory. To date, there is no new confirmed case in the Region of Western Greece.

It is noted that 12 such controls have already been carried out.
