Commentator Jatin Sapru said yesterday when Ajinkya was thrashing Rahane, playing like this in front of Indian captain Rohit, it would be an occasion to reconsider not including Rahane in the Test.
What a weak comment that was. Rahane played his last Test against South Africa in January 2022. Kohli was the captain then. Rohit will take over the Test captaincy in the next series against Lanka.
Rohit has no role in changing Rahana. Rahane was out of form.
Rahane was the one that the selectors had set their sights on. He fell into that helpless trap. Not only Rahane, Pujara also fell. But Pujara came back strong.
It’s a pity that a commentator serves such nonsense in a world-class tournament like IPL.
