General rules for bringing electrical appliances to Cuba

For household appliances, computing and communications equipment, and other durable items, customs valuation is carried out using the customs declaration, purchase invoice or reference value.

However, the person can request a specific valuation, in which case customs will evaluate whether it is done by weight. In this case, the teams will be presented separately from the miscellany. If they are found together in the same luggage or shipment, the customs authority can apply the valuation to the weight and deduct the weight of the packaging.

Customs admits the import of household appliances, as long as they are varied. Up to two (2) items of the same type can be imported, as long as the sum of their values does not exceed the limit established for the import operation (baggage, shipping, etc.). In the case of power plants, up to two (2) units are also allowed.
