A new rumor mentions the Nintendo Switch 2, putting forward a precise release date, a code name, a price and even information on… its two versions.
As the Switch is getting older, there is no doubt that Nintendo is thinking about replacing it. For many months now, rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 have been multiplying. It should keep the same format, it should naturally be more powerful, without Joy-Con Drift, with ray-tracing and DLSS, all for the second half of 2024.
The announcement is therefore inexorably approaching and a new rumor about this Switch 2 is shaking fans.

A member of the Discord of WccfTech whose nickname is SoldierDelta claims to know certain confidential information about the Nintendo Switch 2. According to him, the code name of the console internally would be “ of », an acronym in line with that of the Switch (the “Nintendo NX“). The commercial name is not yet known with certainty (and will probably not be for several months).
As for the release date, SoldierDelta indicates that Nintendo would aim for September 24, 2024. The Japanese brand would nevertheless reserve the possibility of launching its new console in November. To prepare the ground, Nintendo has planned a major marketing campaign from June to August 2024, which in passing gives a clue to the potential announcement date of the one which will have the difficult task of succeeding the Switch.
Two models?
The most surprising information put forward by SoldierDelta, however, is that Nintendo is preparing two models of Switch 2. One planned for 499 dollars and another at 400 dollars for “digital only“. Understand by this that the Switch 2 could follow in the footsteps of the PlayStation 5 and its “Digital Edition» or to Microsoft with its Xbox Series S.
All this information is credible, but should be taken with a grain of salt, especially since even if it were proven today, changes in plans could still occur.
