The new trend on social networks is called “gongbang”. Yes, it’s very serious, don’t be misplaced! Gongbang is the contraction of the Korean “Gongbu Bangsong” which can be translated as “study broadcast”. This practice allows those who have a little more difficulty studying to spend several hours watching someone who revises, and therefore, to do the same.

If gongbang videos are so successful, it’s because they have a relaxing side, they help with concentration, but above all, they help you feel less alone.

Our guest, David God, is a creator of school content and is part of this community: he films himself studying to share it on social networks. David explains his experience on the Internet Show: “It helps me a lot to film myself studying. The idea is that when someone watches my lives, they feel less alone. And for me, the fact that people are watching me, I feel obliged to study.”

So, if you have trouble concentrating, are too lazy to go to the library or spend too much time on social media, give it a try. It costs nothing to try !

Study on networks?

In a world where social networks take over almost everything, what are the positive and negative points they can have in terms of education?

“In terms of education we are not always there”, David Dieu initially responds on the set of the Internet Show. “On Tik Tok, there is an algorithm that offers us a lot of videos, but educational videos do not appear for everyone. You have to look for them and have an interest in them. We spend way too much time on our phones watching all these videos so for education, it’s not great. Otherwise, the big positive point is that on Tik Tok we don’t choose the videos, so the algorithm can offer us topics that we don’t know and which are very informative, as well as lives which tell us to pose our phone and work.”
