Dr. Hossam Mowafi, Professor of Critical Cases at Kasr Al-Ainy College of Medicine, explained that there are two types of food that are most beneficial to the body in the Suhoor meal during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mowafi said during his program, “My Lord, Increase Me in Knowledge,” broadcast on Sada Al-Balad channel, that the two best foods for the Suhoor meal in Ramadan are “yogurt and cucumber.”

The professor of critical care medicine confirmed that eating yogurt and cucumber together at the suhoor meal ensures that the person will not feel thirsty during the hours of fasting, and the reason is that they contain a high percentage of water.

He pointed out that the permitted amount of yogurt is only one cup, while cucumbers should not exceed two fruits, explaining that the best time to eat the pre-dawn meal in Ramadan is “15 minutes before the dawn call.”
