Women can also behave toxically. In an interview, author Sophia Fritz explains what the female part of society might do for more equality.

Ms. Fritz, your book “Toxic Femininity” will be published on March 18th. Do you sum it up correctly when you say: Women make themselves comfortable when they think that men alone are to blame for the injustice in society?

Kim Maurus

Editor in the “Society and Style” department.

I don’t think women are comfortable in the patriarchy — the wait-and-see attitude just suits us better. But it is actually exhausting because you then have to rely on changes in social structures. Of course, criticism of these structures is also needed. But we can take responsibility for some things ourselves, right now, without taking men’s part. We women are also part of a culture that has to change holistically if it wants to be more feminist.
