In effect, if a person decides to save a short-lived message that you have sent on a conversation, you are immediately informed, and you have the possibility of opposing it. “We consider that it is up to you to choose whether the messages you send can be kept or not”explains WhatsApp.
Saving ephemeral messages: you stay in control
“So if someone tries to keep a message you’ve sent, you’ll have the option to object. In this case, no one will be able to keep it again and it will disappear within the time limit, as expected. When an ephemeral message is saved, a bookmark icon appears next to it. It also appears in the Saved Messages folder. This makes it easy to find.
