WhatsApp tests creation of stickers with AI and new features in Channels

According to WABetaInfoo WhatsApp is testing a feature for users to create stickers generated by artificial intelligenceaccording to plans announced by Meta last week.

The function is only available to a small group in the beta version of the messenger (23.20.1.70) for iOS, available on TestFlight. According to the website, a limited number of Android users can also test the feature.

To access the sticker creator, simply press the “Create” button in the application in the dedicated section. There, users will be able to describe in a few words the sticker they want to create and WhatsApp’s AI technology will take care of the rest.

As this is a feature in the testing phase, naturally there is still no exact date for it to be released to the general public. It is expected that the function will spend a few more weeks (or months) “in the oven” and undergo some changes.

Channels

O WABetaInfo also reported today that WhatsApp is testing an improvement to the Channels feature. According to the website, the new feature will allow you to copy links to a channel update within the application itself.

In practice, we will be able to easily share channel updates with other people — even if they are not part of the channel itself — while preserving the original context of the message associated with the link.

The feature is currently available to some users who have the latest beta of WhatsApp for iOS/Android. A broader implementation of the function is planned “in the coming days”.
