Two vulnerabilities in WhatsApp currently allow attackers to foist malicious code on victims. In order to fix the problem, WhatsApp users should carry out the “September update” as soon as possible. The update aims to seal the leaks.
Further details on the vulnerabilities are not available. WhatsApp however, announces that on the one hand code smuggling can occur during ongoing video calls. WhatsApp classifies the risk of this as “critical”.
