MEXICO CITY.- The president Andrés Manuel López Obrador revealed when his last morning conference before the ceremony of handing over the presidential sash to whoever will replace him in office.
This April 25, from the headquarters of the Executive Branch as usual, the federal president recalled that 2024 will be the first year in which a presidential mandate finish a month earlyso instead of passing the command on the first day of December, he will do so on October 1.
Under that line, he recalled that his last public event will be the cry of Independence from the capital’s Zócalo; which, he assured, will be very special.
López Obrador let it be known that next September 30, 2024 It will be the last conference “morning” that will take place at the National Palace.
When questioned about his “Goodbye Tour” in which he will tour the 32 entities of Mexico after the elections on June 2 and before leaving power on October 1.
He reported that on September 1 will deliver the latest government report.
“At night formally until 12 at night I finish and the next day’s ceremony will deliver the presidential sash,” he said.
“I hand over the band, the ceremony is over and I leave. Afterwards we won’t see each other again, why? because I’m retiring. I am not going to participate in any event or conference. I’m going to make sure they don’t take photographs of me and no more politics, I’m going to dedicate myself to doing research work,” she added.
