White pulp without salt- Hossam Mowafi explains: Does it reduce pressure?

It is rumored among many people that the white pulp is a food that can be eaten instead of medicines used to treat high blood pressure, provided that it is free of salt.

This was denied by Dr. Hossam Mowafi, Professor of Critical Care Medicine at Kasr Al-Ainy College of Medicine, stressing that the white pulp without salt cannot be relied on alone, to control high blood pressure, despite its high nutritional value.

Mowafi added, during his program, “My Lord, Increase Me Knowledge,” broadcast on Sada Al-Balad channel, that the same applies to hibiscus, which most people with high blood pressure are used to taking instead of medication.

The professor of critical care medicine explained that proper nutrition does not replace drug treatment, calling on patients with high blood pressure to regularly take the medications prescribed by the doctor, without prejudice to the doses and times of obtaining them.

He concluded his speech by recommending high pressure patients to completely avoid salt and products rich in it, such as cheese, canned food, fast food and soft drinks, and replace it with lemon, vinegar, hot peppers, onions and garlic.
