As Il Mattino di Padova reports, they were purchased by the mayor of Bagnoli, who wants to use them for a meeting room in the former San Siro Air Force base. At one euro each, the mayor Roberto Milan concluded the deal, motivating it as follows: “I was asked if we were interested and I took the opportunity. These are new chairs, never used, yet to be assembled, certified and certainly suitable for our purpose. In the former San Siro base we have a large room, 50 meters long, which is well suited to conferences and meetings. With this purchase, which is certainly convenient, we reach 400 seats. Normal chairs would have cost much more. We are thus going to enrich the supply of municipal material. I’m not interested in controversy. Avoid further waste of new material, purchased with public money, and suitable for our needs”. And to think that at the time they cost 150 euros each: an incredible devaluation after being forgotten.
