The camera Deputies approved yesterday the project of pension moratorium. It will provide the possibility for some 800 thousand people can access a retirement. This group of people is of age to receive the economic benefit but It does not count the years of contributions.

The initiative had obtained half approval in June 2022 in the Senate. Yesterday it was approved in the Lower House with 134 positive votes and 107 negative.

As detailed by BAE, the project consists of two parts. The first of them poses a payment similar to those that were implemented between 2004 and 2014so that 65-year-old men and 60-year-old women -who do not have contributions- can regularize said periods in 120 installments, whose amounts will be discounted directly of the retirement assets received by the beneficiary.

In second place, people in employment situation (women from 50 to 59 years and men from 55 to 64 years) who do not reach 30 years of retirement contributionbut with an age close to retirement, they will be able to anticipate said date and will have the possibility of beginning to pay the missing periods.

Fernanda Raverta, holder of Ansescelebrated the approval of the project: «We’ll be proudly receiving to the thousands of people who during these months came to the Anses offices throughout the country to to be able to retire and they could not do it«.

Pension moratorium: the beneficiaries


According to estimates from Ansesabout 800 thousand older adults will be able to retire and thus avoid resorting to the Universal Pension for the Elderly, whose amount is equivalent to 80% of a minimum retirement.

Of that total, 10,000 potential beneficiaries reside in Neuquén and another 10,000 in Río Negro. That is to say, 20 thousand people could access to early retirement in both provinces.
