The crypto world’s favorite social network, Twitter, will soon welcome a new CEO at the helm of the company following Elon Musk’s resignation.
On May 12, i.e. yesterday, the billionaire innovator announced that he was stepping down as CEO of the microblogging service.
“I’m excited to announce that Twitter has a new CEO, starting in 6 weeks! From now on, I will function as a technology leader and as the chairman of the board of directors”, tweetelte Musk.
Speculations began immediately as to who the chosen one in question might be. Naturally, Twitter was flooded with various memes, most of them showing the businessman as a woman, who thus takes over as “Elona”.
According to the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal, Linda Yaccarino, director of at NBCUniversal, may be the finalist.
Yaccarino currently manages $13 billion in annual revenue, in addition to working as a staff member of the World Economic Forum. He is also well-known for his vehement negotiation tactics, thanks to which he has built a close relationship with the big guns of the market.
At the same time, the crypto sector is quite far from him, so it is suspected that Musk will move the threads from the background regarding the sector.
In the past, the billionaire used the platform for his own purposes, for example, in April he changed the Twitter logo to Dogecoin, which caused the price of the meme coin to explode.
Returning to Musk’s successor, the name of Ella Irwin, Twitter’s head of security, has also been mentioned as a possible aspirant within the company.
In December 2022, Edward Snowden also informed Musk that he would be happy to take over the role of CEO from him if his remuneration was paid in bitcoin.
Given Twitter’s current situation, changes are urgently needed as the company dances on the edge of the abyss, earning itself more and more ire. In light of this, Yaccarino would probably be the best choice, who could breathe new life into the social media interface through his professional experience.
