Why Capcom decided to remove ray tracing from the remakes is unknown. Some suggest that this was done by accident, although this may be due to the fact that after the introduction of ray tracing and DirectX 12 into remakes, the latter became more demanding on hardware – performance in some cases dropped so much that Capcom returned the ability to “roll back” to older versions. Many players have continued to play DirectX 11 remakes due to better performance.
However, Capcom also announced a few days ago that it will stop DirectX11 support on three games in the Resident Evil series, and among them are remakes of parts 2 and 3.
