Did you know that the smell of rain falling on dry earth has a name? “Petrichor“ is the name of the mixture that scientists have been mixed with. Almost like a perfume. Adam Ragusa introduces us to a sample of this mixture that was sent to him and, in an interview with Harry Sherwood, explains why we humans find the smell of falling rain so wonderful, but consider the taste of the mixture to be totally “bah!” in the mouth. Interesting sensory study!
