For decades, studies have shown that women are more likely to die from heart attacks than men. But why is that? One reason is that the symptoms differ. The chest pain that is typical for men is often not the focus for women, but often less clear symptoms such as shortness of breath, a pulling in the arms, inexplicable tiredness, anxiety, sweating, nausea or vomiting and pain in the upper abdomen or in the back, explains cardiologist Christiane Tiefenbacher
