Will Michał Domaradzki become the new police chief?

“Rzeczpospolita” reports about the case. There was speculation three months ago that Domaradzki would become the police commander. However, it seemed that these were just media rumors. The obstacles were not only the prosecutor’s charges against Domaradzki, but also his disability. However, it turns out that both factors are no longer a problem. How this was possible, a newspaper journalist tried to find out. However, the Ministry of Interior and Administration did not answer his question.

Sudden recovery?

In February, the medical commission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration concluded that Domaradzki was fully healthy. Thus, one of the grounds against his new function has been removed. The uniformed officer has been receiving a disability pension since 2016, which means that in addition to his pension of PLN 15,000. PLN gross, he also received an allowance of PLN 3,000 every month. zloty.

In turn, the ministry headed by Marcin Kierwiński is silent regarding the prosecutor’s allegations. Let us recall that the Szczecin prosecutor’s office became interested in Domaradzki a year ago after he allegedly persuaded prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek to provide him with information from the investigation into two city bus accidents in Warsaw.

The nomination for Domaradzki raises serious doubts among police officers. Their leader is to be a person who has been out of service for 8 years.

Currently, Domaradzki is the director of the Capital Security Center, which reports to the Warsaw City Hall. So he is de facto a subordinate of Rafał Trzaskowski. His name appeared in the context of the detention of Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik at the Presidential Palace, which took place in January this year.

In the past, Domaradzki served as the Metropolitan Police Commander. He was dismissed from office in 2016 without giving a reason.
