Lifting the immunity of an MEP is not easy

According to the rules, the immunity of an MEP can only be lifted at the request of the prosecutor’s office, which must be approved by the European Parliament. The procedure is complicated and requires formal proceedings at both the national and European level.

This means that even if the prosecutor’s office seeks to lift Dworczyk’s immunity, the process might take many months or even years.
