Within the framework of Month of Memory, Truth and JusticeBoca Juniors will restore cards to relatives of detained-disappeared partners by the last civil-military dictatorship. The event will be this afternoon at adjacent to the Filiberto hall of La Bombonera.
At an event scheduled for this Thursday at 7 p.m. In the room next to the Filiberto de La Bombonera, the Xeneize will pay tribute to Benjamin Isaac Dricasdisappeared on August 21, 1976, as well as Daniel Lázaro Rusdisappeared on July 15, 1977.
This tribute is added to that of 2022, the year in which the institution delivered seven cards for relatives of victims also of the last dictatorship. On that occasion River Plate, Racing, Huracán, Rosario Central, Ferro and Deportivo Morónamong several clubs, paid tributes.
Boca distinguished Estela de Carlotto as an honorary member
Estela de Carlotto, head of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo associationwas distinguished on January 31, 2023 as Honorary member of the Boca Juniors club, in an emotional ceremony which took place in one of the Bombonera rooms. About 250 people gathered this afternoon in the Juan de Dios Filiberto space, located in the xeneize stadium (Brandsen 805).
In addition to Carlotto, 92 years old, also was recognized with the delivery of a similar cardBuscarita Roa (85), Chilean by birth and Argentine by adoptionwhich is also a member of Abuelas and who – like Estela – is a renowned Human Rights activist.
«There have been 45 years of struggle and we still need to recover 300 grandchildren, because we have already recovered 133. We will continue in this fight and since we are at the end of the road, our grandchildren will be there to continue the fight,” he acknowledged.
“I know that we will have the Argentina that the 30 thousand disappeared dreamed of. We already have the longest democracy in our history, 40 years old and despite what is said, this country is wonderful,” he praised.
«My husband (Guido Carlotto) was a player for Estudiantes de La Plata. Surely wherever his spirit is he will ask me what I did? And I tell him that I have done what I feel. I know that my husband will understand me from heaven,” Carlotto laughed.
