JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Will Smith said he had read the translation of the Muslim holy book, the Koran, from cover to cover, aka khatam, during Ramadan in 2023. He also admitted that it was easy to understand the contents of the Koran because it was presented simply and the contents were very clear.

Will Smith was amazed by the repeated mention of Moses in the Qur’an, and he found the stories very touching. Smith also read the Qur’an when he was going through a difficult time for the last two years.

Will Smith’s words in a podcast last year turned out to be widely discussed again this Ramadan. The video circulated on many media platforms.

“I like simplicity, the Koran is very clear, very clear. It’s hard to avoid misunderstandings,” Will Smith told Egyptian journalist Amr Adeeb on the Big Time Podcast last December, in a video that went viral again citing Saudi GazetteWednesday (20/3/2024).

“Her spirit was so beautiful and clear,” he continued.

Will Smith said he was surprised by the similarities between the holy books of Judaism (Judaism), Christianity and Islam.

“I read all the holy books, and I was surprised because they were all like one story, from the Torah, the Bible, to the Koran, the connection between them was unbroken,” he said.

“I was struck by how much it was like a story, from the Torah through the Bible and into the Koran. “I never fully understood Abraham as a father and then parted ways with Isaac and Ishmael and it was wonderful to be able to complete that understanding,” he continued.

Will Smith also expressed his love for Saudi Arabia.
