Windows 11 22H2, global rollout begins

We announced it and Microsoft confirms it. The official rollout of Windows 11 22H2 begins. This is the first major OS update since launch.

In a few hours things accelerated and Microsoft took the decision to officially launch Windows 11 22H2. The operating system introduces new features and improvements.

Windows 11 22H2also referred to as Windows 11 2022 Update, is now deployed in more than 190 countries. On the other hand, beware, the giant uses a step-by-step approach. This means that not everyone is affected. Gradually the OS will be offered to more and more computers. This approach gives time to deal with potential bugs while limiting the number of victims in the event of serious problems. It also makes it possible to set up restrictions prohibiting the installation on PCs likely to encounter failures while continuing in parallel its deployment on other machines.

Windows 11 2022 introduces many improvements. They relate to Snap layouts, a new Focus feature, performance, and battery usage.

We have global Android app support. Until now this feature was only available in the United States. On this subject Microsoft adds

“Having the right content fuels a great PC experience. A year ago, we redesigned the Microsoft Store on Windows to be more open and easier to use – a one-stop shop for the apps, games, and TV shows you love. Today, through our partnership with Amazon, we’re expanding the Amazon Appstore Preview to international markets, bringing over 20,000 Android apps and games to Windows 11 devices that meet feature-specific hardware requirements. Along with a growing catalog of apps and games, we’re also excited to announce that we’re moving to the next stage of the Microsoft Store Ads pilot, helping developers get content in front of the right customers. »

Another interesting new feature in 22H2 is File Explorer’s support for tabs. This is one of the most requested features. It is now official and widely available.
