After installing the Windows 11 KB5023706 update distributed by Microsoft (MS) in March, it has been reported that the PC boot time becomes longer and the SSD speed decreases significantly. However, according to reports posted on online communities such as Reddit, even following installing the most recently released June update, the SSD slowdown problem is said to have not improved. Some Reddit users are reporting that their SSD speeds have gone from 7,000MB/s to 3,000MB/s, with some users seeing extreme drops to 1,000MB/s. Uninstalling the March 2023 patch restores SSD speed back to normal, but it is known that installing the latest Moment 2 update (KB5022913) slows it down once more. The foreign media analyzed that “the SSD speed problem may be directly related to the recent update.” Microsoft has not taken an official position on the matter. One of the Facebook Hub posts even commented that Microsoft had received a bug report, but no information regarding fixing the bug was mentioned.
