Alongside the race, more than 120 events will take place from the starting point on May 14th in Thessaloniki, to the last day on May 19th in Athens, in a festive finale to this year’s event!
Through the action of the race and the highlighting of the unique Greek nature, the bicycle becomes a messenger of social participation, ecological awareness and ultimately daily joy for young and old.
No sport is as inextricably linked to everyday life as cycling. In an ever-changing world, the bicycle leads the way to a better, more sustainable future. Greece is invited to follow the pace and increase the speed, making the bicycle the dominant means.
The new European agenda for transport and the environment, the subsidization of electric mobility, the fulfillment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Road Safety Charter, the development of Cycling for All, all of these have a common denominator, the Bicycle !
Our big international race becomes the driving force for the spread of cycling culture in the everyday lives of young and old.
As the director of Parallel Events of the PPC International Cycling Tour of Greece 2024, Thanos Georgiou, points out: “Cycling for all of us at Cycling Greece is, in addition to sport and a way of life, a hope for a sustainable future for our children.
The parallel cycling actions that we planned this year as the Organizing Committee, with the undivided support of the Minister of Sports Yiannis Vroutsis and the excellent cooperation of all the Municipalities, Regions and local communities, are primarily aimed at our children.
We expect all families to come along with their bikes, helmets and positive attitude, so that they can have fun, exercise and train, always with the bike as their axis, in a variety of original parallel actions. All actions at the events are FREE!”
