Plumbing, therapeutic massages, Care of the Elderly and manicure are some of the courses already confirmed to be carried out this year by the Cowork of the Municipality of Chillán.
The mayor, Camilo Benavente, highlighted that the activities related to the School of Trades will begin next March and will be developed during the first semester of 2024.
For this reason, the authority detailed, people who are interested in participating in the training activities can go to the Otec and Cowork offices that operate at Vega de Saldías 57.
“We have reinforced the team of both the Otec and the municipal Cowork with the aim that the community can continue acquiring knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies that facilitate the development of activities for personal growth and insertion into the world of work both dependent as in companies,” the mayor stressed.
The person in charge of both entities, Luis Urra Gutiérrez, explained that “the first course, which will be held from the second week of March, corresponds to the teaching of massage techniques that seeks to train people so that they can quickly enter into a possibility work, whether independently or within a work team.
“This job arises from the concern of a team of professionals from the community, who are constantly recruiting masseuses for their teams. No prior experience is required, but a lot of responsibility with taking care of your body and health,” said Urra.
For this new discipline that will last three months, a prior selection will be made by the rapporteurs.
Plumbing and sanitary services
Additionally, in the next few days, registration will begin for the new Plumbing and Sanitary Services course, where people, men and women, are expected to “learn to make repairs related to the proper functioning of home water and sewage systems.”
“This is a trade whose instruction will last approximately two months; We are defining the schedules, but we estimate that we will do it during the month of May,” said Urra.
Another subject guaranteed for this year is Elderly Care Services, which was very successful last year, not only because of the quality of the speakers, but also because those students who completed the course had the opportunity to quickly insert themselves. in the world of work or to strengthen themselves in a field that they had already been developing.
In addition, it is considered taking the Manicure course that was going to be held during 2023 but had to be postponed. People already registered have priority to be part of the training, but there are still places available.
