“With DIY store silicone”: this beauty salon warns of these fake doctors who perform anti-aging injections

The largest congress in the world in the field of aesthetic and anti-aging medicine is being held until tomorrow Saturday at the Grimaldi Forum. Under the scientific supervision of the Aesthetic Multispecialty Society (AMS), this show, called AMWC, brings together specialists in aesthetic medicine and surgery, as well as anti-aging medicine in Monaco.

With an average participation of 15,000 professionals from 140 countries, the event exhibits, through 300 stands, more than 1,000 brands. Today, this meeting is also a scene for the launch of the finest innovations for manufacturers.

For its opening, the members of the scientific council of the event also wanted to refocus the question of ethics at the heart of cosmetic surgery and anti-aging medicine.

“A public health problem”

Doctor Philippe Kestemont, face and neck surgeon in Nice, director of training and member of the scientific committee, thus alerted to the worrying increase in injections for aesthetic purposes made by “non-physicians”. “Despite our alerts on Fake Injectors, their number continues to grow at the same time as that of the complications resulting from these gestures carried out outside any rule of good practice. There are often dramatic and irreparable consequences. I have seen in these shameful practices sometimes the use of silicone coming from DIY stores! These fake doctors are part of real mafia networks. This is a public health problem that all doctors must today seize and act to denounce and eradicate this scourge.”
