French singer Mickey 3D releases “We were humans”, his first album in seven years. The twelve titles remain faithful to his sensitive, committed and disillusioned style and also offer some nostalgic moments.
Faithful to its sensitive and committed style, Mickey 3D returns with a new album with the nostalgic title “We were humans”. Originally from Montbrison in the Loire in France, the singer Mickaël Furnon founded the group in 1996. Half-rock, half-folk, the band established itself on the French-speaking scene in 2003 with the environmental hit “Respire”.
After a separation in 2007, the singer remains the only permanent member of the musical formation. Seven years after “Sebolavy”, Mickey 3D is back with a new album in which he notably addresses the decline of civilization, ecology, politics, social networks and even jokingly urges us not to buy his album!
An album with casual nostalgia
The magic of Mickey 3D’s music lies in its pop melodies and sensitive lyrics. With second degree and intelligence, he deplores the old rebellious youth who listened to rock. “I remember we were dancing like crazy listening to rock’n’roll, today it’s rotten r’n’b that makes our umbrellas cry”, he sings, before chanting, always on the same tone: “I remember that we voted Mitterand, or Chirac or Laguiller. A more social tone
When his last album was released in 2016, the artist was single, today he is married and a father. His wife, Lebanese, is behind his new album. Indeed, in 2019 while the couple was in Lebanon, the revolution broke out, followed very closely by government containment measures to stem the Covid 19 pandemic. Two extreme situations for a country with fragile economic soil. Shaken by the crisis he witnessed, Mickey 3D then began to write certain texts for his new album, a disc with a more social tone than the previous ones.
