With poignant and elegant words at the same time, the Syrian artist, Solaf Fawakherji, announced, on Tuesday evening, her separation from her husband, artist Wael Ramadan.
Fawakherji, through her account on Instagram, published a long, influential post in which she described the state of separation, saying, “And my heart, as it is said, is dislodged…not in your hands, not in mine, but it is fate…”.
Separation despite love
While she confessed her love despite the separation, saying, “I was not worthy of you enough… I swear that I have tried… and I swear that you were worthy of what is beyond love… and I was a child crawling… in front of a mountain, no matter how hard I tried.”
She also asked for forgiveness from her husband for her mistakes and shortcomings, “Forgive me if I have ever sinned or fallen short…I know that your heart was built on love, generosity and giving.”

She also added, “Forgive me if I have erred or fallen short, and I know that your heart was built on love, generosity and giving.”
And she added in her lengthy message, “Wael Seddiqi… Abu Hamza and Ali… Thank you to the Day of Judgment… and I love you forever and ever.”
The Syrian artist concluded her announcement with the tag “Separation”.
It is reported that Solaf and Ramadan have been linked for several years, and they have two sons.
