Woman dies after elephant attack on safari

WORLD.- Gail Mattson, a women 79-year-old American died in Zambia after what an elephant attacked a vehicle that transported tourists on a safari.

The incident occurred last weekend morning at the Kafue National Park in Zambiaconfirmed a Lusaka police spokesperson.

Another woman was injured and taken to a hospital. medical center in south africa following the incident that occurred on Saturday, the conservation and hospitality company Wilderness, which organized the trip, said in a statement. Four people received treatment for minor injuries.

One of the tourists recorded the animal’s attack. In the video you can see how the elephant chases the vehicle in which people travel. Although the animal was initially far from the truck, the driver slowed down, allowing it to catch up.

Zambia is a popular destination among safari travelers thanks to a series of national parks and the quality of their guides. While Kafue is the park largest national in the country and houses more than 200 species animals.
