Woman stabbed to death in Thiruvananthapuram; Defendant from Tamil Nadu arrested – News18 Malayalam

Thiruvananthapuram: The accused in the case of stabbing an employee of a plant selling shop on the lockdown day in the capital on Sunday has been arrested. Rajesh, a native of Tamil Nadu, was arrested. Police have arrested the accused from Tamil Nadu and are taking him into custody for questioning. The investigation, which focused on CCTV footage, helped nab the culprit.

It is learned that the accused committed the murder for the purpose of theft. The accused, who was injured during the murder, entered Tamil Nadu after seeking treatment at Peroorkada Hospital. The search for Vinitha’s necklace, which was stolen by the accused during the murder, is continuing.

After examining the CCTV footage, the police got information that the accused got into an auto from Ambalamukku and got off at Muttada. The auto driver who saw the CCTV footage and sketch released by the police informed the police.

Vineetha, an employee of a shop selling plants in Ambalamukku, was killed last Sunday. The body was found hanging from a tree inside the shop. She started working at a humble plant shop nine months ago. Although it was a shop holiday on Sunday, Vinita arrived as the owner of the establishment told her to come and water the plants.

Those who came to buy the plant could not find anyone in the shop and called the owner. The owner then called Vineeti several times on his mobile but there was no response. Vineeta was later found dead in a second search by another employee, Sunita.

Vinita had three deep cuts on her neck. The police concluded that he was stabbed with a grass-cutting knife. Vineeta’s husband Senthil Kumar died of a heart attack two years ago.
