Project was completed within three months

St. Polten (OTS) In the municipality of Bisamberg, the existing path between the B 3 state road and the Donaugrabendamm did not meet the quality requirements for a corresponding cycling infrastructure due to its width being too small. For this reason, the market town of Bisamberg and the state of Lower Austria have decided to create a more attractive pedestrian and cycle path connection to the Bisamberg ÖBB station. The market town of Bisamberg is part of the Korneuburg cycle network. With the start of the cycling season, cyclists now have a traffic-safe connection at their disposal.

The section begins at the municipal boundary of Langenzersdorf, at the intersection with the B 3 state road and runs for a length of around 220 meters in the direction of Donaugrabendamm to the junction with the existing footpath and cycle path in the direction of the Bisamberg ÖBB stop. The section also connects to the Danube Cycle Path (Euro-Velo 6). The new combined footpath and cycle path was designed with a corresponding structural design in a width of three meters with a shoulder of 0.25 meters on both sides. The total costs amount to around 120,000 euros, with 70 percent being borne by the state and 30 percent by the market town of Bisamberg. The funding was processed by the Lower Austrian Road Service, Department of State Road Planning. The construction work was carried out over a period of about three months
