The latest Credit Suisse study shows a growing shortage situation for the entire industry. Despite this, working conditions are not improving according to the Unia union.

Last year, nearly one out of ten apprenticeship places remained vacant for lack of applications. The entire branch must deal with a constantly increasing shortage.

Tuesday, January 3, 2023, on the site of JobUp.ch, Coop has 2,709 vacancies of all kinds there. For the retail trade as a whole, across the country, the number increases to 5,554 vacancies. And with each passing month, the situation is deteriorating according to the latest Credit Suisse study devoted to this branch of the economy which provides work – directly or indirectly – to more than half a million Swiss.
