Petschar: Thanks to dairy farmers and employees for great work

Milk from over 23,000 dairy farmers is processed in the dairies into high-quality dairy products. The diverse range of dairy products is an essential part of Austrian food culture. “A big thank you goes to the Austrian dairy farmers and the employees in the dairies, in logistics and in retail, who ensure the reliable supply of dairy products with their daily work,” said the President of the Association of Austrian Milk Processors, Dir. The advantages of the natural food milk, which was created for the nutrition of offspring, is due to the balanced composition of high-quality protein, carbohydrates and fat, as well as vitamins, minerals and trace elements, it is strictly controlled, a food that is used in all situations, from forms an excellent nutritional basis from childhood to old age, unique advantages that cannot be matched by imitations.

Milk from Austria has the best climate protection values ​​in the EU

The quality and sustainability strategy of the Austrian dairy industry is also unique: GMO-free, a high proportion of basic feed, no soy from overseas and no palm oil in the feed, adapted breeding with small and medium-sized farms, high animal welfare standards, regional processing, strict Raw milk quality standards, continuous controls via the AMA seal of quality and the high standards of the Austrian Food Codex, the highest organic proportion in the EU, plus many quality programs such as hay milk or organic meadow milk, which, according to a study by the Joint European Research Institute, have the best climate protection values ​​in the EU attest.

“Austria can therefore rightly be very proud of the achievements of the Austrian dairy industry. It is all the more important to quickly expand the labeling of origin so that customers can effectively support this sustainable approach in their daily shopping, added Petschar.
